Oast House bar/restaurant

Standing in the heart of Manchester’s Spinningfields district and providing a real contrast to the sprawling tower blocks surrounding it, The Oast House has been built to look as if it has been there for hundreds of years.

Owned by the New World Pub Company, this unique and truly characterful pub-restaurant was opened as a 'pop-up' bar with temporary planning permission back in October 2011. Due to its success the owners applied to make it a permanent fixture and the old world pub, a reclaimed 16th century oast house where brewers roasted hops, was brought to Manchester from Kent, brick-by-brick and added to with other materials, some of which were reclaimed and recycled.

Every piece of material, old and new, was carefully chosen and when it came to specifying an appropriate rainwater system to complement the old style look, the Cascade cast iron style rainwater system got the thumbs up. Using the 112mm Roundstyle gutter and 68mm round downpipe, the Cascade replicates the intricate detail of real cast iron and complements other 'old style' materials and features to add to the charm of The Oast House for many more years to come.
