Al Duqm airport was originally opened in 2014, the airport was then upgraded to accommodate more passengers and was completed in 2018. This was a major step forward in the industrialisation of Duqm from a small fishing town. This project seen the use of two Brett Martin products.
Marvault vault rooflights were installed on the cargo building, ground support building, and fire station. This product was used alternatively to glass to reduce the amount of steel used to support the rooflights. This also led to a reduction on the number of plant and equipment hire generating a lower cost overall. Marvault also maintains a high standard of thermal performance, which makes it the perfect choice for this application.
The air traffic control tower seen our vertical panel glazing system – Marlon Clickfix applied. These systems can be installed as vertical facades to a height of 12m, with different systems to suit different applications. The finish produced is seamless, and installation of the product is simple. Dark blue was the opted colour for this project; however, a range of colours are available.
