Brett Martin makes light work in Fire and Rescue Centre
Brett Martin rooflights were selected in the construction of a new build £8.2 million service centre for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS). Built to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent,’ this facility is a hub for maintenance, servicing and repair of fire appliances and operational equipment serving all NIFRS activities throughout Northern Ireland.
This innovative building envelope incorporates a curved and asymmetrical steel construction and a distinctive red Kalzip aluminium roofing system. As part of the design, a compatible rooflight solution was required that would maximise daylight and reduce energy demands.
Brett Martin Energysaver FAIRs and Multivault SSR rooflights were specified on account of being able to meet these unique requirements. Energysaver FAIRs provide enhanced thermal performance and Multivault SSR barrel vault rooflights which are designed to be installed without roof penetrating fixings, guarantee the roof remains watertight whilst adding further light into the facility.
