Brett Martin Gives a Titanic Welcome to NBG Members
We were delighted to welcome NBG members from across GB to our Mallusk manufacturing site in Northern Ireland last week. Following a presentation on Brett Martin, the group had a guided tour of the site to see for themselves the scale of the manufacturing facilities and witness products being made including drainage pipes and fittings.
The group also learned about the investment Brett Martin is making in reducing its carbon footprint and the tour included a walk past the 100m-tall wind turbine, which together with the solar farm contributes to 50% of the overall energy consumption on site.
Following lunch, the members were bused to the Titanic Visitor Centre in Belfast to learn more about the build of Titanic, its ill-fated maiden voyage and discovery of the wreckage of the most famous vessel in the world.
David Santi, Managing Director at McNair Building Supplies in Glasgow commented: “It was great to meet everyone and see the factories in action. The visit to the Titanic Visitor Centre was very interesting and dinner in the Chairman’s Office at the Titanic Hotel finished off a perfect day with great food, lovely wine and in the company of friends.”
With a focus on investing in the future Brett Martin is continuing to invest in enhanced production facilities, management systems and logistical capabilities to support the people in the business and the merchant industry. We hope to replicate this event again in the not-too-distant future as part of our bringing people together to learn and share information.
Charles Burns, Divisional Director at Brett Martin commented, "As a relatively new customer for us, it was a pleasure to welcome NBG members to Mallusk. We believe success in the building materials market is all about people and investing in relationships is important to us. These visits provide us with a better understanding of merchant needs and allow us to share knowledge and work together for mutual benefits."
