When the Maritime Transport’s depot at Avonmouth Docks in Bristol underwent a major upgrade, an effective flood protection solution was required and contractor Churngold Construction turned to Brett Martin. Following a site visit and follow-up support from the Brett Martin technical team, the StormCrate55 attenuation system was specified for the shipping container transport business to help cope with any potential stormwater during inclement weather conditions.
Located within one of the UK’s major ports, the 16,000m2 design and build scheme for Maritime Transport included an upgrade of their handling facility and involved major groundworks which included the installation of the attenuation tank.
The Brett Martin technical team worked closely with the structural engineer, to meet DEFRA and Environment Agency guidelines and approval was given for the 440m³ StormCrate55 attenuation tank. This was installed by Churngold Construction underneath what is now a car parking area.
