Dating back to 1813 this Grade II Listed windmill has truly stood the test of time, in spite of the many challenges facing it in its lifetime. The once smock mill was struck by a fire in the 1980’s and again in 2008, however it has since been painstakingly restored to all its former glory, by its owners, Bernie and Caleb Watson.
While modern materials were used where possible, to safeguard the future of the mill, the owners were keen to ensure that the original character of the building was preserved. Internally, close attention to detail was paid throughout, with the installation of bullseye windows, beautiful timber staircases and wooden mill doors. While externally, developers installed Brett Martin's Cascade cast iron effect rainwater system in the 106mm Prostyle profile and complementary 110mm push-fit cast iron effect soil system. Cascade's authentic cast iron style detailing was in keeping with the heritage aesthetic of the unique building and breathed a new lease of life into this old property.
